Andorran Cyclist Roger Turné Claims 8th in Under-23 at Spanish XCO Cup in Lugo

Andorran cyclist Roger Turné earned eighth place in the under-23 category at the Spanish XCO Cup GP Internacional Peñas de Rodas in Lugo, while also securing 11th in the overall standings.

The race unfolded over the weekend on a demanding circuit known for its numerous jumps and highly technical sections, which played to Turné's strengths. He navigated the explosive terrain effectively, holding a competitive pace alongside Spain's leading specialists in the discipline.

Post-race, Turné voiced contentment with his performance and his feel on the bike. He attributed some of his success to the team's new jersey bearing Andorra's flag, noting it seemed to bring good fortune as he gains more race rhythm.

Turné also emphasized the intense competition in the under-23 field, where many riders were battling for selection to the Nove Mesto World Cup. "I can be very pleased with this eighth place, as the level and motivation in this race were very high in my under-23 category," he said. "Many riders were fighting for a spot in the Nove Mesto World Cup, so the pace was extremely high."

This strong showing further confirms Turné's excellent form heading into his next event at Naturland—his first home race of the season, which he faces with considerable excitement.
