Andorran mountain runner Thomas Pereiro concluded his participation at the World Junior Mountain Running Championships in Makarska, Croatia, with a 22nd-place finish in the Youth sky race.
Pereiro, representing the Federació Andorrana de Muntanyisme (FAM) as Andorra's sole junior entrant, clocked 1 hour, 44 minutes and 25 seconds in the demanding longer event. Catalan athlete Marc Font took the victory.
This capped a solid debut for the young competitor, who had placed 14th in the Youth B vertical race with a time of 46:24—over five minutes behind the winner—and 17th in the combined standings. He rested following the vertical before tackling the sky race on the event's final day.
