Andorran alpine ski teams from the Federació Andorrana d’Esquí (FAE) have begun their preseason with intensive on-snow sessions at Les Deux Alpes in France, marking their first snow contact after an initial physical preparation phase two weeks ago.
Carla Mijares resumed skiing on 29 May without discomfort from last season's physical issues, under the guidance of her new coach Pol Carreras, who replaced Josh Alayrach. Carreras called her return "impeccable," with no signs of prior problems, as she tested new boots and equipment. Her group will remain at the Isère resort until Saturday before returning from 14 to 19 June.
The women's team—Jordina Caminal, Íria Medina, and Clàudia Garcia—is also training there. Garcia has rejoined following cruciate ligament surgery, reporting "good sensations," according to coach Xoque Bellsolà. Skiman Mathis Cottet is on hand for the block, which features three days of slalom fundamentals, two days of giant slalom, and a super giant slalom segment.
Bartumeu Gabriel and the youth squad, led by Didac González with support from Mihai Bara, Nico Belcredi, and Romain Chamayou, wrapped up their first stay from 24 to 29 May. They tackled giant slalom and super giant slalom in favourable conditions, with González highlighting "a very good block" marked by light crowds and quality snow despite the heat. Part of the group plans to return from 7 to 12 June for additional giant slalom and super giant slalom work.
These camps combine technical drills with ongoing physical conditioning as teams gear up for the season.
