Pal Arinsal Launches Mobility Plan for UCI Mountain Bike World Series
Organizers implement road limits, shuttle services, and cable car access to manage traffic for the July 10-12 event in Andorra. Sustainable options like bike arrivals and walking paths are promoted amid peak summer traffic.
Key Points
- Road restrictions from Amorriadors; access limited to accredited vehicles only.
- Spectators urged to use La Massana cable car, public buses, and shuttles with valid tickets.
- Team paddocks centralized at Caubella; downhill at Fontanals; motorhomes in Pal residential zone.
- Cyclists can arrive by bike with supervised parking; walk Camí del Bosc between venues.
Pal Arinsal has activated a special mobility plan to facilitate spectator access and ensure fluid traffic during the Whoop UCI Mountain Bike World Series, set for July 10 to 12.
The plan, in place over the three competition days, features road restrictions starting from the Amorriadors area, where access to Pal will be limited to accredited vehicles only. Organizers urge spectators to arrive via the La Massana cable car as the main entry point, supplemented by public transport and dedicated shuttles.
Regular bus services will deliver visitors to La Massana parish, from which they can continue by cable car or shuttles to the event area. Cable car and shuttle use requires a valid World Cup entry ticket or Grandvalira Resorts season pass. Shuttles will run continuously, timed to the competition schedule, with departures every 30 minutes from Pal—potentially varying by day—and La Massana. They will make an initial stop at Prat Gran in La Massana before following usual routes.
To ease movement between venues, officials recommend walking the signposted Camí del Bosc path, the preferred internal link.
This year brings a reorganized setup for team areas. Caubella will centralize all team paddocks, plus access and parking for large trucks. Fontanals will exclusively host the downhill riders' technical paddock.
Motorhome parking is allocated in Pal's new rear residential zone, complete with grey water collection, toilets, user support, and shuttle transfers to the site.
Cyclists may arrive by bike as a sustainable choice, securing them at supervised parking in Caubella and Fontanals during event hours.
The measures align with broader summer traffic preparations by the Mobility department, anticipating over one million vehicles from July 6 to September 13, alongside reinforced nighttime bus services for local festivals, including the Roser de la Massana on July 10 and 11.
