Fernando Belasteguín Builds Andorra's Largest Indoor Padel Center in Encamp

Fernando Belasteguín, the padel legend and former world number one for over 16 years, presented his latest project on Tuesday in Encamp: the Bela Padel Center Andorra, the fourth in the brand's global expansion and set to become the Principality's largest indoor padel club.

Located next to the new FAF stadium parking area on land owned by the Reig Ensenyat family, the facility will feature nine fully covered courts, a gym spanning nearly 900 square metres equipped by Technogym, a restaurant named Casa Bela, and parking for more than 100 vehicles. The €5 million development, secured with a 25-year operating agreement, has already seen initial groundwork begin, with Belasteguín noting the unexpectedly rapid progress. An opening is planned between spring and summer 2027.

"Andorra was always a clear bet in our expansion," Belasteguín said, highlighting the country's potential to grow the sport alongside his brand's philosophy. Headquartered in Barcelona, the chain already operates centres in Alicante and Barcelona, with a Buenos Aires site to follow in May 2027. He stressed the vision extends beyond sport: a hub to build community, integrate into daily life through play, training and dining, and ensure year-round access despite harsh weather. "We don't want to be just a padel club. We want to create a community and be part of people's everyday routines."

The indoor design counters Andorra's temperature extremes, a necessity for consistent play. Belasteguín, who plans frequent personal oversight well beyond occasional visits, pointed to the sport's rise here, fuelled by figures such as Carles Puyol, Javier Saviola and MotoGP's Raúl Fernández. Backed by investors tied to the sports world—details forthcoming—the Encamp venue marks a strategic entry into the Principat.
