Fernando Belasteguín Builds Andorra's Largest Indoor Padel Center in Encamp

Fernando Belasteguín, the padel legend and former world number one for 16 years with 230 titles, has presented plans for Andorra's largest indoor padel facility in Encamp. The Bela Padel Center Andorra, the fourth site for his brand, will include nine covered courts, a gym spanning nearly 800 square metres equipped by Technogym, a restaurant named Casa Bela, parking for more than 100 vehicles, and additional communal spaces.

Located next to the new FAF stadium parking area on land owned by the Reig family, the €5 million development comes with a 25-year operating agreement. Groundwork is already under way ahead of schedule, with an opening planned between spring and summer 2027. Belasteguín, a Barcelona-based Argentine who retired in 2024 after a 30-year career from age 15 to 45, presented the project yesterday and has attended landowner meetings that started about a year ago.

"Andorra was always a clear choice for us," Belasteguín said. He aims to expand the sport and his brand's philosophy locally, creating a community hub integrated into daily life rather than just a court-booking venue. With all courts indoors, the centre will ensure year-round play despite Andorra's weather, supporting regular players, schools, tournaments and training.

Belasteguín highlighted the facility's potential to become a reference point amid padel's strong growth in the Principat. The Andorran Padel Federation recorded 406 new licences in 2025—321 adults and 85 minors—with 10 national tournaments, a consolidated Masters Final, and 16 players at the European Championships in Madrid. Local enthusiasts include Javier Saviola, Carles Puyol, Felip Ortiz and MotoGP rider Raúl Fernández, though only professional Martín Di Nenno resides full-time in Andorra.

The chain already operates centres in Alicante and Barcelona, with Buenos Aires due in May 2027. Backed by elite athletes or former stars, the Encamp project matches surging demand.
