Žan Tabak Confirms Kostadinov as Andorra's New Pivot Replacing Udeze

Žan Tabak, head coach of the Andorran basketball team, has confirmed Kostas Kostadinov as the replacement for pivot Morris Udeze following a hard-fought overtime victory against Casademont Zaragoza.

Tabak singled out the Nigerian international Udeze after the game, where he received no playing time. The coach praised Kostadinov's performance at the pivot position—known as the "5" in basketball terms—describing it as one of the Bulgarian's best outings in the ACB League since joining the team.

"We already had this in mind, but when I first arrived, I couldn't grasp everything exactly. I needed to understand the situations and the players. It took time to reach this conclusion, but it's the right decision," Tabak said. "It didn't surprise me because in his previous team, he struggled most when playing as a 5."

The 22-year-old from Burgas stepped into the pivot role against Zaragoza, logging 14 minutes and 44 seconds on the court. He scored 5 points, grabbed 3 rebounds, provided 3 assists, and finished with a 9 efficiency rating.

Kostadinov, who initially arrived to replace American forward Justin McKoy, will now take over Udeze's spot. He is expected to provide interior relief alongside Pustovyi, bolstering the team's frontcourt depth in the competitive ACB League. Udeze is likely to depart the squad as a result.
