Andbank has partnered with the Andorran Tennis Federation (FAT) through a sponsorship agreement announced on Wednesday, backing a new national youth tennis circuit that kicks off this weekend with a tournament for pre-benjamin, benjamin, and aleví categories in Encamp.

The deal positions Andbank as the official sponsor, with funds earmarked to create and strengthen the competition. This aims to boost youth involvement and local talent amid economic and logistical hurdles for overseas travel. FAT president Gerard Blasi called it a major step to grow Andorran tennis domestically and abroad, adding stability and potentially higher quality to the project.

The circuit spans six events from March to November, excluding July and August, ending in a masters for the top six or eight players per category. Matches feature sets to four games and a super tie-break in the third, ensuring quick, dynamic play that lets children fit in several games daily—ideal for Andorra's setup, per FAT sports director Èric Garcia.

Andbank's country banking director, Maria Suárez, said the tie-up underscores the bank's support for national sport and shared principles of effort, discipline, and commitment. This marks the organisations' first collaboration, running one year with renewal potential; Suárez voiced hopes for longevity.

Blasi also outlined plans for an international youth tournament in Andorra, using the sponsorship to gauge local players against global peers and advance grassroots efforts. Age groups—possibly under-12, under-14, under-16, or under-18—await decisions with club and academy input. Clubs would supply venues, likely two sites with at least four courts each to manage boys' and girls' singles and doubles.

The FAT plans to realise this by 2026, targeting late summer around the September school start for better promotion. A 2026 season calendar preview reiterated the event's promise for base-level growth, though exact dates need analysis due to facility demands, Blasi noted.
