Andorra Approves €2M Subsidies for Pro Sports Clubs in 2026

The Andorran Council of Ministers approved €2 million in subsidies for professional sports clubs in 2026 on Wednesday, boosting funding for FC Andorra while keeping support level for Bàsquet Club Andorra (MoraBanc Andorra).

Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Mònica Bonell proposed the allocations, which recognize the national interest in both teams' participation in Spanish leagues. FC Andorra will receive €850,000—a €350,000 increase from 2025—to compete in Liga Hypermotion, Spain's second-tier professional football division. MoraBanc Andorra's subsidy stays at €1.15 million, matching last year's amount, for its role in Liga Endesa (ACB), the top basketball league.

The decision continues government backing for Andorra's leading professional clubs as they compete in state leagues and enhance the principality's international sports profile.

In parallel, the Council opened the 2026 subsidies call for sports federations and historic clubs, with a €4.5 million total budget. The ministry advanced 58%—€2,211,631.09—in January to support early-year liquidity ahead of the main awards in May. This round will allocate the remaining €2,288,368.91.

Eligible entities must apply through the digital sports aid platform by April 1, 2026, at 23:59, submitting their 2026 budget and sports program, both digitally signed by the entity president.
