Andorra Ski Resorts Near Full Capacity with Deep Snow

Andorra's ski resorts enter the weekend with near-full operations and excellent snow conditions, despite forecasts of cooler temperatures, light showers and possible snow above 1,500 metres on Saturday evening.

Grandvalira Resorts reports more than 300km of skiable terrain open across its three stations, with snow depths nowhere below two metres. Pal Arinsal has up to 240cm of snow, Grandvalira between 240cm and over three metres, and Ordino Arcalís between three and 3.5 metres. Official data shows Grandvalira operating 202 of its 215km, with 134 pistes and all sector links active. Ordino Arcalís has 100% of its pistes open, boasting the country's highest depths at 350cm on upper slopes, while Pal Arinsal offers 46 of 47 pistes with up to 240cm of powder.

The resorts anticipate sunny days and mild temperatures, with access open from Cerdanya and normal border crossings from France.

A worn front passing south of France will increase cloud cover through Saturday, bringing possible weak showers—potentially with mud at lower levels—and snow above 1,500m late in the day and overnight. Temperatures will ease slightly, with light south-westerly winds.

Saturday lows are forecast at 2°C in Andorra la Vella, -2°C at 1,500m and -4°C at Pas de la Casa. Highs will hit 11°C in the capital, 8°C at mid-altitudes and -1°C at Pas de la Casa.

Sunday should see clearing skies after overnight precipitation, with light south-westerly winds persisting. Lows will reach 4°C in Andorra la Vella, -1°C at 1,500m and -5°C at Pas de la Casa, with highs matching Saturday: 11°C, 8°C and -1°C respectively.

Friday remains stable with high clouds and no precipitation expected.
