Andorra Copa Constitució Semifinals Set with Escaldes and Santa Coloma Derbies

The semifinals of Andorra's Copa Constitució knockout tournament pit two heated local derbies after the quarterfinals wrapped up this week.

Atlètic Escaldes opened the round on Wednesday with a commanding 5-0 rout of CF Esperança under new coach Martí Riverola. Rodrigo Piloto struck first in the 13th minute, Domingo Berlanga added a second in the 35th, and David Valero made it 3-0 before the break. Berlanga completed his brace in the 72nd minute, with Jean Luc Assoubre closing the scoring two minutes later. The result keeps Atlètic's European hopes on track ahead of their Escaldes derby against Inter Escaldes.

Inter Escaldes advanced on Thursday with a 4-1 victory over CE Casa de Portugal, the last remaining second-division team. Maurizio Pochettino scored in the third minute, Álex Sánchez doubled the lead in the 30th, and Diego Guerrero netted twice in the 70th and 74th minutes. Casa de Portugal grabbed a late consolation through Álex Sánchez in stoppage time.

UE Santa Coloma secured their spot the same day, beating FC Ordino 3-0. Eric de Pablos opened the scoring in the 17th minute, with Ricard ‘Cucu’ Fernández adding a second in the 79th and Àlex Baldrich finishing it off three minutes later.

The quarterfinals concluded Friday evening at Borda Mateu, where FC Santa Coloma edged Ranger’s FC 1-0 in the round's tightest clash between league frontrunners. Juan Becerra's goal just after halftime proved decisive, setting up a Santa Coloma derby with UE Santa Coloma.

Matches are slated for April 28 and 29, but the Andorran Football Federation (FAF) is weighing a single-day format on Wednesday the 29th to balance rest periods. The winners advance to the final.
