Andorra Copa Constitució Semifinals: Santa Coloma Derby and Atlètic vs Inter

The semifinals of Andorra's Copa Constitució knockout tournament will feature two intense local derbies after the quarterfinals concluded this week.

FC Santa Coloma advanced with a narrow 1-0 victory over Ranger’s FC on Friday evening at Borda Mateu. Juan Becerra scored the decisive goal shortly after halftime, securing the win in the most closely fought match of the round between two top league contenders. They will now face UE Santa Coloma, who earlier beat FC Ordino 3-0 on Thursday. Eric de Pablos opened the scoring in the 17th minute, with Ricard ‘Cucu’ Fernández adding a second in the 79th and Àlex Baldrich sealing it three minutes later.

In the other bracket, Atlètic Escaldes crushed CF Esperança 5-0 on Wednesday in a dominant display under new coach Martí Riverola. Rodrigo Piloto scored first in the 13th minute, followed by Domingo Berlanga in the 35th. David Valero made it 3-0 before halftime, Berlanga netted his second in the 72nd, and Jean Luc Assoubre finished the rout two minutes later. The win keeps their European qualification hopes alive ahead of a clash with Inter Escaldes.

Inter progressed with a 4-1 win over CE Casa de Portugal, the only surviving second-division side, on Thursday. Maurizio Pochettino struck early in the third minute, Álex Sánchez doubled the lead in the 30th, and Diego Guerrero added two more in the 70th and 74th. Casa de Portugal pulled one back via Álex Sánchez in stoppage time, but it was too late.

The semifinals are scheduled for April 28 and 29, though the Andorran Football Federation (FAF) is considering consolidating them on Wednesday the 29th to ensure equal rest for all four teams. The winners will meet in the final for the trophy.
