Andorra Ski Mountaineering Team Secures Five Podiums at Spanish Cup in Cerler

Andorra's national ski mountaineering team secured five podium finishes at the second round of the Spanish Cup held in Cerler, Aragon.

The achievements came across two disciplines over the weekend. On Saturday, the sprint event featured athletes from all federated categories in Spain. Andorran competitors included Joan Lluch in U18, Adrià Isal in U20, and Marc Casanovas and Lea Ancion in U23. Lluch and Isal reached the quarterfinals but did not advance further. Casanovas and Ancion both took third place in U23, earning podium spots on the opening day.

Sunday's vertical race benefited from favourable weather. The team comprised the same four athletes plus debutant Jan Escolfet in U18. Marc Casanovas claimed first in U23 with a time of 40:29.2. Lea Ancion finished second in U23 at 50:10.3, 1:29.1 behind the winner. Joan Lluch earned third in U18 with 24:46.9. Adrià Isal placed seventh in U20 at 44:46.2, while Escolfet ended 18th in U18 with 29:25.7.

Oriol Olm and Max Palmitjavila did not compete. The Federación Andorrana de Montañisme (FAM) represented Andorra in the event.
