Andorra's ski resorts have now opened 100% of their pistes for New Year's Eve, following recent heavy snowfall that has delivered excellent conditions across all domains.
Grandvalira offers its full network of nearly 316 kilometres of skiable terrain, with all sectors connected and more than 190 kilometres of pistes operational. Snow depths vary from 50 to 80 centimetres. Pal Arinsal has activated its complete 63 kilometres of runs for all abilities, including the challenging black piste La Capa—home to the Principat's largest vertical drop—thanks to accumulations up to 100 centimetres. Ordino Arcalís reports full access to every lift and slope, with depths surpassing one metre and peaking at 135 centimetres in places. Its international freeride reputation shines through with all four off-piste zones open in prime shape.
Recent snowfalls have also kept more than 80 kilometres of marked routes available for backcountry skiing and snowshoeing, broadening activities beyond downhill skiing. Favourable weather forecasts promise sunny days and mild temperatures ahead, creating ideal settings for the holiday period.
Resorts are running their full festive programmes. Soldeu kicks off with a torchlight descent on December 31 at 6pm, featuring snowcats in a display of piste maintenance, followed by a children's lantern run on January 3; both end with hot chocolate. Pal Arinsal joins on January 4 at 6pm with a lantern event for ages 6-12, complete with chocolate at Pla de la Cot. Pas de la Casa closes the season on January 5 at 6pm with a torchlit descent heralding the Three Kings procession through town streets and a fireworks display. Other attractions include snowside dinners and après-ski sessions with international DJs, highlighted by a New Year's Eve party at L'Abarset.
