Around 50 professionals from Andorra's sports clubs and organizations took part in an anti-bullying workshop on Thursday at the banquet hall of Encamp's Sports and Cultural Complex. Organized in collaboration with LaLiga, the session titled "Detect, Prevent and Act: Responses to Bullying from Sports" featured speeches from Encamp deputy consul Xavier Fernàndez, Sports Councillor Nino Marot, and Gonzalo Fernández from LaLiga's Public Affairs and Institutional Relations team.
The workshop delivered a detailed examination of school bullying, including its types, warning signs, consequences, and response mechanisms. It highlighted sport's potential as a space for prevention, positive interaction, and safeguarding. Former Spanish professional footballer Àlex Sánchez, the first top-division player with a disability, led the training with practical resources to help sports professionals identify and stop bullying incidents. He presented real-life cases, drawing on his personal story to stress the value of inclusive, respectful settings.
