Andorran driver Joan Vinyes celebrated his debut in the Toyota GR Cup Spain with a podium finish during the season-opening weekend at Madrid's Jarama circuit.
Vinyes took pole position for the first of two races and finished second. He repeated the pole feat in race two but retired after a rival struck the rear of his car.
His son, Joan Vinyes Rodríguez, placed ninth in the opening race and climbed to sixth in the second. The results put father and son level on 22 points in the overall standings.
