Andorran National Karate League Concludes Inaugural 2025 Season

The Andorran National Karate League (LLINA) concluded its inaugural 2025 season with the Trofeu Nadal event in Escaldes-Engordany, followed by the first National Karate Gala held there on Wednesday evening.

The Trofeu Nadal, the third and final scoring round, featured around 30 athletes from three clubs: Fudo-Shin of Escaldes-Engordany, Xavier Herver of Ordino, and Jion of La Massana. Fudo-Shin led the medal tally with 22 awards—seven gold, seven silver, and eight bronze—followed by Xavier Herver with 19 medals (five gold, five silver, nine bronze) and Jion with 10 (three gold, three silver, four bronze).

After combining points from all three rounds, the overall Grand Winners in the youth categories were Ibai Amorim (benjamí), Laia Jover (aleví), Jan Mellado (infantil), Inès Chevalier (juvenil), and Paulo Domingues (cadet). These champions received their awards at the gala in the Comú d'Escaldes-Engordany's assembly hall, which also recognized Fudo-Shin as the top club for its results and league participation. The event honored medalists from the Small States Games, including Silvio Moreira, Paula González, and Maria Ubiergo.

Xavier Herver, president of the Andorran Karate Federation, described 2025 as "exceptional, marked by the Games," adding that the federation was "very pleased to close this first edition of the Andorran National League."
