It feels like a relegation final. After three consecutive defeats, the BC MoraBanc — including a loss at the Palau Blaugrana against Barça — hosts Coviran Granada tomorrow at 21:00. Granada sit second-to-last with only one win and arrive without centre Zach Hankins, who has just signed for Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv.
“It’s a very important game given our situation. We urgently need to win, but we come to the roster in a situation that is not ideal,” said Granada coach Ramón Díaz. He asked his players to compete, stay connected on defence and try to reduce BC MoraBanc’s offensive capacity. “They must show the character they have shown on several occasions this season, but we must be realistic and Granada has never won in Andorra. That is a reality of this team,” Díaz added.
Díaz praised Joan Plaza’s side and highlighted the matchup challenges. “Our interior players will have to do extra work to defend Pustovyi, who plays very close to the rim. In addition, Shannon Evans II is the most important piece of the team because they generate from him. We must try to take them out of the paint and, from there, generate in attack. Hankins’s absence hurts us.”
Granada will also be without Elias Valtonen and Jovan Kljajic for the game.
