FC Andorra Joins LaLiga's First Retro Matchday with Iconic Kit

FC Andorra will participate in LaLiga's first-ever Retro Matchday from April 10 to 13, wearing a special kit inspired by an iconic design from its history during the away match against Cádiz at Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla on April 12.

The initiative involves 38 of the 42 teams across Primera División (Liga EA Sports) and Segunda División (Liga Hypermotion), excluding Real Madrid, Barcelona, Getafe, and Rayo Vallecano. All participating clubs will don nostalgic uniforms to celebrate the heritage and symbols that have defined generations of fans, creating a bridge between football's past and present while blending the sport with culture.

LaLiga's Club Office director Jaime Blanco described the event as "a unique opportunity to pay homage to the history of our teams and the symbols that have marked several generations of fans." He added that it offers "a way to bring the past into the present and continue building experiences that forge a legacy connecting emotionally with supporters."

Referees will join in, sporting a custom kit designed by the Technical Committee of Referees from the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). The retro collections remain under wraps but are scheduled for unveiling on March 19 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid. Broadcasts and digital content will feature retro-inspired graphics and visuals.

Club officials called it a joint effort to highlight the history and identity of Spain's professional football clubs, uniting past, present, and future.

Separately, FC Andorra's Genuine team wrapped up the second phase of the LaLiga Genuine Moeve season in Gijón last weekend. They faced Burgos on Saturday afternoon, where the opponents held the upper hand, but delivered a strong showing against Racing Ferrol the next morning in a tight contest that stayed competitive until the end. The matches underscored the competition's emphasis on camaraderie and respect beyond the results.
