FC Andorra players have given the 2023-24 Segunda División season a resounding endorsement, describing it as a major success despite a disappointing finish with three losses in their last four matches.

Midfielder Marc Domènech called it "an absolute success for the team," praising the side's growth in the second half of the campaign. He highlighted strong performances against top opponents both home and away, adding that while the season felt short, the group aims higher next year. "I'd like us to take another step forward and fight for a possible play-off spot," Domènech said after the recent defeat to Ceuta.

Sergio Molina, another key midfielder, rated the campaign a perfect 10. The Madrid native emphasised the achievement of securing survival with several matches to spare—a feat he described as far from easy. "We've earned respect in the division; no team found it simple to face us, especially in this final stretch," Molina noted ahead of Sunday's season finale at Burgos. A win there would surpass the 59 points earned in the club's debut Segunda season.

Both players stressed continuity as vital for progress. Molina said it would be "ideal" to retain most contracted players, citing the benefits of their shared experience for newcomers. Domènech and coach Carles Manso echoed the sentiment, with Manso observing the team had improved steadily and must build on the late surge.

Player movements loom large. Álvaro Martín will depart after three seasons, having featured in 19 games with two assists but limited minutes lately. Defender Josep Cerdà, contracted until 2027, has attracted interest from newly relegated Mallorca, though Andorra would demand his €5 million release clause. Fifteen players, including loanees, see deals expire.

Next season's landscape shifts: Racing and Deportivo earned promotion, while Huesca, Cultural Leonesa, and Zaragoza dropped to the third tier. One relegation spot remains between Mirandés and Leganés, with Almería, Málaga, Las Palmas, Castellón, Burgos, and Eibar vying for play-off promotion.

Molina acknowledged his own bittersweet end, sidelined by injury since March 8 against Sporting Gijón and training at half-capacity for two months. He praised the midfield depth shown by Domènech, Efe Akman, and others.

In other news, former Andorra midfielder Marc Aguado, now at Primera División side Elche, visited training at Estadi Comunal-Joan Samarra. Ex-coach Eder Sarabia, also formerly of Elche, announced a sabbatical after two seasons.
