FC Andorra Signs 19-Year-Old Georgian Winger Saba Samushia to Three-Year Deal

FC Andorra has secured a three-year contract for 19-year-old Georgian winger Saba Samushia, who will join as a free agent from Rio Ave FC U23 after his deal expires this June.

The player confirmed the agreement in comments to Georgian First Channel, stating he had signed for three seasons and planned to prepare for the campaign in Andorra while recovering form following an injury at the Portuguese club. Samushia also shared an Instagram post from Georgian outlet Geo Goal announcing his move to the Pyrenean outfit. Club officials told *El Periòdic* the signing aims initially at the Tricolor reserve side, Club Gimnàstic de Manresa, ahead of the 2026-2027 season, marking the second addition after international Aron Rodrigo—still unannounced officially.

No official statement has come from FC Andorra, which faces a season-end match against AD Ceuta on Sunday at 16:15 in Encamp's Nou Estadi de la FAF. That game will serve as a farewell for up to 14 players whose contracts end, alongside several loanees returning to parent clubs, including goalkeepers Áron Yaakobishvili and Jesús Owono, defender Edgar González, and forwards Min-su Kim and Jastin García.

Samushia, from Zugdidi, developed in Dinamo Tbilisi's youth ranks, Georgia's landmark club. He spent August 2023 on loan at Cypriot side Anorthosis Famagusta, returned to Dinamo in March 2024, and featured for the second team in Georgia's second division, the youth squad, and made his senior debut in the Erovnuli Liga with minutes in UEFA Conference League qualifiers.

A Georgia under-17 and under-19 international, he played European qualifiers and earned about 15 official U19 caps. The Georgian Football Federation named him the best U19 player of 2024 and best striker at the 2023 Copa Vitali Daraselia.

In February 2025, he moved to Portugal's Liga Revelação with Rio Ave U23, gaining experience in the 2025-2026 season despite the injury. The versatile forward, who prefers the left wing but can play either side, may feature in preseason under Carles Manso and vie for first-team opportunities.
