MoraBanc Andorra has secured the signing of US combo guard Sir’Jabari Rice from Czech side ERA Nymburk, with the deal poised for official confirmation pending paperwork and a squad adjustment.

The 1.93m player, born in Houston, Texas, on 28 December 1998, arrived in Barcelona recently and has already passed a medical check in Andorra. He trained with his new teammates at the Pavelló Toni Martí on Monday, but the club awaits the international transfer from Czech authorities and must finalise one outgoing player to register him under league rules.

Rice, in his first European season with Nymburk, brings scoring punch and playmaking to bolster the perimeter during the decisive phase of the campaign. In 23 Mattoni NBL games, he averaged 14.8 points, 4.2 assists, 3.6 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 0.8 blocks in 20.3 minutes. In 11 Basketball Champions League outings, he posted 18.6 points on 42% three-point shooting, 3.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 26.1 minutes, earning a 14.2 valuation average.

His career path includes college stints at Missouri City and New Mexico State, followed by G League stops with Austin Spurs, Sioux Falls Skyforce and South Bay Lakers, plus time at Metros de Santiago in the Dominican Republic last year.

The move addresses perimeter needs amid injuries to Xavier Castañeda and Kostas Kostadinov. It will likely prompt the departure of an interior player, with Nigerian centre Morris Udeze emerging as the frontrunner after interest from clubs outside Spain. No deal is finalised yet, and MoraBanc is exercising caution until everything is complete.

The club, managed by figures including Francesc Solana, Žan Tabak and Chema de Lucas, timed the acquisition during the FIBA window. International players like Artem Pustovyi, facing Spain with Ukraine on Monday evening, are due back soon as the team eyes a push forward.
