Nico Ratti, the Italian-Argentine goalkeeper for FC Andorra, has signed a new deal to remain with the club through 30 June 2029, extending his stay by three seasons.
The 32-year-old from Mendoza, who has lived in Andorra for over 20 years, is the longest-serving player on the roster and the only one still present from the era when Gerard Piqué's Kosmos project took over. A product of the club's youth system, Ratti made his senior debut at age 15 on 26 April 2009 in the 1a Regional division, coming on for Koldo Álvarez de Eulate—now Andorra's national team coach—during a match against Albesa. The next season, as a cadet, he secured the starting spot in the first team.
He later honed his skills with Numància's youth team, Llagostera—where he made his professional debut—and UE Sant Julià before returning to FC Andorra in January 2019, coinciding with Piqué's involvement. Ratti contributed to three promotions, including two in territorial leagues, guiding the side from Primera Catalana to the Lliga Hypermotion. With more than 200 appearances, he holds the unique record of playing in five different divisions for the tricolor outfit.
This season, however, Ratti has seen limited action in the Lliga Hypermotion due to competition from Áron Yaakobishvili—formerly with Hungary's national team—and Jesús Óscar Owono of Equatorial Guinea. His two starts both ended in defeat: a 2-0 league loss at Eibar's Ipurúa, where he stopped a penalty, and a 4-2 Copa del Rey second-round elimination by Cultural Leonesa.
The extension highlights Ratti's enduring legacy as FC Andorra prepares for another campaign in Spain's second division.
