Andorra-based Spanish driver John Smörg launches his 2026 motorsport campaign this weekend at MotorLand Aragón in the opening round of the Spanish GT-CET Championship.

He will drive a BMW M4 GT4 EVO for Promotion Motorsport, teaming up with Francisco Javier Macías, a partner with whom he has posted solid results in past seasons. The event allows the duo to shake off the winter hiatus and gear up for Smörg's primary targets this year: the Iberian Supercars and Spanish Supercars series, both kicking off in May at Portugal's Autódromo do Algarve before heading to Jarama, Valencia, Jerez, and Estoril.

After finishing as runner-up in both championships last season, Smörg aims to challenge for the titles. "We are eager to get back to racing and see if we are on the right track," he said. The team spent the off-season honing technical aspects to sharpen their edge for the campaign ahead.

The weekend itinerary at MotorLand Aragón features free practice sessions, qualifying on Saturday at 15:50, and two races on Sunday at 11:55 and 15:30.
