Andorra la Vella will remodel the area around Prada Motxilla to create a calmer, greener corridor that links the street with the riverside promenade and nearby leisure areas. The town council has awarded the contract to Construccions Purroy for €239,921.78, about 35% above the original estimate of €177,650.
The works, which were tendered in September and published in the official bulletin, include planted garden beds, benches and the planting of trees to provide summer shade and serve as a climatic refuge. The project aims to improve safety and comfort for pedestrians, particularly around the Lycée Comte de Foix.
A 1.2-metre-wide bike lane will be added, providing a direct connection to the riverside walkway. The contract sets an execution period of two months, with completion expected in time for spring.
