Motorists travelling on the RN-20 towards Andorra from France will face alternating one-way traffic controlled by signals on weekdays due to maintenance work in two separate sections.
The work, managed by the South-West Interdepartmental Roads Directorate (DIRSO), targets roughly 200-metre stretches near the Gargante stream in Albiès and the Labail stream in Luzenac. It aims to boost the road's durability and user safety through waterproofing to prevent water infiltration and replacement of concrete parapets with new safety devices.
The project unfolds in two phases: from 13 April to 12 May, and from 5 to 12 June 2026. Traffic will flow normally at weekends to limit disruptions for drivers.
Costs total around 455,000 euros, with 258,000 euros allocated to the Albiès site and 193,500 euros to Luzenac.
DIRSO urges drivers to exercise caution, adhere to signage, and reduce speed near the work zones to protect themselves and the crews.
