- Routine breathalyser stop on Oct 14 in Escaldes-Engordany uncovered 4g cocaine on 26-year-old driver.
- Home search yielded 228g cocaine, scale, wraps, plus marijuana and hashish; man held in La Comella prison.
- Phone analysis identified ~90 clients, mostly personal use; first 20 appeared Friday facing €500 fine and conditional arrest.
- Cases use streamlined penal orders before supplier's trial; most expected to accept terms.
Nearly 100 people linked to a cocaine supplier have begun appearing before Andorra's Batllia after police analysed data from a dealer's seized phone.
The case stems from a routine breathalyser check on the night of 14 October in Escaldes-Engordany. Officers stopped a car driven by a 26-year-old man, who was living irregularly in Andorra due to prior expulsion over unrelated criminal records. A search uncovered five wraps containing almost four grams of cocaine on his person, plus traces in a sixth. Vehicle checks revealed over €500 in cash, mostly in €60 bundles.
With his consent, police searched his home, supported by sniffer dogs. They found three sealed packages totalling 228 grams of cocaine—far above typical amounts seen locally—along with a precision scale, about 50 small wraps for dosing, and tools used in drug trafficking. Additional seizures included 21.7 grams of marijuana and 10.4 grams of hashish. The man, previously uncaught for drug offences despite suspicions, has remained in custody at La Comella prison since mid-October.
Analysis of his phone produced a list of around 90 clients, mostly for personal use. The first 20 appeared at the Seat of Justice on Friday. They face a standard penalty: one month of conditional nighttime arrest, suspended for two years, plus a €500 fine. Most are assigned public defenders, with cases distributed four per lawyer. Proceedings use streamlined penal orders, processed before the supplier's trial. Authorities expect most to accept the terms.
The supplier had reportedly rushed fatherhood to argue roots in Andorra and seek legal residency. His detention and the resulting client cases will bolster prosecutors' demands for a lengthy sentence.
