Andorra Launches Drone Study with ACA and CCIS for Mobility Strategy

Andorra's government, the Automobile Club of Andorra (ACA), and the Andorran Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CCIS) have signed a 12-month collaboration agreement to study the potential of uncrewed aircraft.

The State Secretariat for Energy Transition, Transport and Mobility joined forces with the ACA and CCIS to assess the economic, technological, logistical, and regulatory opportunities of drones. The project aims to define a national strategy fostering growth in areas such as logistics, emergency management, and light transport.

State Secretary David Forné described the agreement as a foundation for rigorous analysis of drones and light air mobility. He noted their potential to drive innovation, new economic activities, and sustainable solutions tailored to Andorra's needs.

CCIS Director General Sol Rossell called the initiative a prime example of public-private partnership essential for advancing emerging sectors with assured success. The study will evaluate viability against European standards and global best practices, while proposing steps to build a local light air mobility ecosystem.

Findings will be shared with public administrations, businesses, and social stakeholders to promote knowledge transfer. The effort aligns with Andorra's goals for economic diversification, technological advancement, and sustainability.

The State Secretariat will handle institutional coordination, the ACA will provide technical expertise, mobility knowledge, and international connections, and the CCIS will lead economic and business analysis alongside private-sector engagement. A joint monitoring committee with representatives from all three entities will oversee progress and ensure objectives are met.
