PS Demands Traffic Data on Carrer de la Unió Reforms in Andorra

Susanna Vela, president of the Social Democratic parliamentary group (PS), has submitted a written question to the government seeking additional data on the CG-3 road reforms along Carrer de la Unió.

The move comes after reviewing documents supplied in response to a prior information request from the group. It targets the impact of the changes on traffic and mobility between the Dama de Gel and Km0 roundabouts.

Vela's query calls for current traffic intensity figures in that stretch, alongside comparisons to data from earlier studies. It also requests details on journey times before and after the reconfiguration, as well as trends in traffic flow since the new lane arrangements and left-turn restrictions—known as turborotondes—took effect. The PS wants confirmation on any monitoring of alternative routes created by the works.

The group is also pressing the government to state whether it has permanently dropped plans for an elevated link between the roundabouts, as outlined in Andorra's 2018 Central Valley Integrated Mobility Plan and related studies with consultancy firm Doymo.

PS members say the request will help build a complete picture to evaluate the reforms' true effects on circulation. The government has yet to respond.
