PS Demands Traffic Data on Carrer de la Unió Reforms in Andorra

Susanna Vela, president of the Social Democratic parliamentary group (PS), has submitted a written question to the government requesting further details on the impact of reforms to Carrer de la Unió on the CG-3, traffic trends in the area, and confirmation on whether plans for an elevated link have been abandoned.

The query follows an earlier information request by the PS group and focuses on the stretch between the Dama de Gel and Km0 roundabouts in Andorra la Vella. Vela seeks current traffic intensity data, comparisons with prior studies, journey times before and after the changes, and patterns since the introduction of new lane setups and left-turn restrictions at the turborotondes. The group also wants information on monitoring of alternative routes established during the works.

The reforms recently introduced a third lane on Carrer de la Unió aimed at easing queues.

Additionally, the PS is asking for clarity on the elevated link proposed in Andorra's 2018 Central Valley Integrated Mobility Plan and studies by consultancy firm Doymo.

PS members state the data will provide a fuller assessment of the changes' effects on mobility. The government has not yet replied.
