Andorra Reactivates Free Student Bus Service for New School Year

The Andorran government has reactivated its Bus Estudiant service—previously known as Bus Lliure—for the new school year, offering dedicated buses exclusively for students during peak morning and afternoon hours.

The reinforcement targets pupils in secondary education, Bachillerat, vocational training, and university programmes. Services run during high-demand periods aligned with school entry and exit times, easing congestion on regular public lines and providing direct routes to educational centres across the country.

Morning buses collect students from various stops and deliver them close to their institutions, while afternoon runs return them to starting points. These routes connect with school shuttles but follow custom paths distinct from standard services.

Eligible students can use the service free of charge by showing a resident bus card or Bus Jove card. Access is limited to the student community only.

The initiative coincides with the start of the academic term to manage the increased commuter demand from secondary schools, Bachillerat centres, vocational facilities, and universities. The Mobility department has issued a user guide detailing the service to aid trip planning throughout the year.
