Andorra's government has received two bids to operate flights from Andorra–La Seu d'Urgell Airport to Madrid, Palma de Mallorca, and Paris starting next year, officials confirmed Friday.

The midday deadline for the tender passed, prompting the executive to begin opening the bids, checking documentation, and assessing the proposals before awarding the contract. The new agreement, effective from 1 January 2027, will replace the current setup for the Madrid and Palma routes while adding Paris as a third regular destination.

Bidders must guarantee at least 1,400 annual flight hours and maintain a minimum of two weekly frequencies to each destination. Companies can propose additional flights or routes beyond these requirements. The annual funding limit remains at €5 million to ensure service viability. Technical specifications call for ATR aircraft or equivalents with at least 48 seats.

State Secretary for Energy Transition, Transport, and Mobility David Forné had previously highlighted keen interest, noting that multiple firms downloaded the tender documents. He called the contract "very attractive, with a large and ambitious budget allocation."

It is still unknown if current operator Air Nostrum submitted a bid. The evaluation will determine which proposal best meets the technical and economic criteria outlined in the tender.
