Andorran Vehicle Traffic Fines on Catalan Roads Drop 49% This Summer
Data from Servei Català de Trànsit shows fines for Andorran-registered vehicles fell sharply across all summer months, with speeding accounting for most cases. Officials attribute the trend to improved driver compliance.

Traffic fines issued to Andorran-registered vehicles on Catalan roads fell nearly 50% this summer compared to the previous year.
The Servei Català de Trànsit (SCT) recorded 211 cases from June to August 2026, down from 415 in the same period of 2025—a 49.2% reduction. The drop occurred across all three months.
June 2026 saw 84 fines, 45 fewer than the 129 issued in June 2025, for a 34.9% decline. The steepest decrease came in July, with 48 cases against 147 the year before, a 67.3% fall. August recorded 79 fines, compared to 139 in 2025, marking a 43.2% drop.
Speeding remained the most common violation by far, with 135 cases this summer—almost two-thirds of the total. That represents a 58% decrease from the 322 speed-related fines in 2025.
Manoeuvre signalling was the next most frequent offence, with 23 cases, a slight rise from 22 the previous year. General traffic rules accounted for 20 fines, while alcohol and drug violations totalled 11, down 26.7% from 15 in 2025. Other categories included nine cases involving seatbelts, helmets or other safety equipment; four for improper overtaking; and three related to driver documentation.
