David Forné, Andorra's Secretary of State for Energy Transition, Transport and Mobility, presented the Principality's main mobility and connectivity projects at the Ibero-American Ministerial Conference on Transport and Infrastructure in Valladolid on Friday.

In his speech, Forné outlined the future segregated public transport system, designed to improve internal travel and establish a land connection to La Seu d'Urgell. He also underscored plans to expand air links via Andorra–La Seu Airport and the planned National Heliport.

The official stressed that such infrastructure is essential for strengthening territorial cohesion, economic competitiveness and quality of life. He advocated combining public funding with international cooperation and public-private partnerships.

"Andorra is advancing infrastructure to meet the challenges of the coming decades," Forné said, framing enhancements in public transport, air connectivity and new facilities as part of a broader push for a more sustainable, connected and competitive nation.

On the conference margins, Forné held bilateral talks with Spain's Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, and Portugal's Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, Miguel Pinto Luz. The meetings focused on aligning transport and infrastructure priorities while bolstering bilateral ties.

The event ended with a joint declaration from participating countries, pledging progress toward more sustainable, safe, resilient and accessible transport networks.
