Mobility Department adds General 3 at Sorteny and Arcalís access, plus General 2 segments, mandating winter tyres, 60 km/h limit, and banning.
Key Points
- Yellow phase expanded to General 3 (Sorteny junction), Arcalís access, and General 2 (Envalira to Pas de la Casa).
- All vehicles must use winter tyres or equivalent; 60 km/h speed limit; no motorcycles/mopeds.
- Drivers advised to slow on bends/gradients, avoid abrupt moves, increase following distances.
- RN22, RN20, RN320 to France also require winter equipment; vehicles over 19 tonnes banned.
Andorra's Mobility Department has expanded the yellow phase to additional winter routes, now including the General 3 road at the Sorteny junction and the access to Arcalís, alongside the existing segments on General 2 from the Envalira pass through Pas de la Casa.
The activation requires all vehicles on these roads to use special winter tyres or equivalent equipment. A 60 km/h speed limit is in force, and motorcycles, mopeds, and personal mobility vehicles are prohibited.
Drivers must take extra care by slowing down on bends and steep gradients, avoiding abrupt movements, and increasing following distances for safety in snowy conditions.
The same winter equipment mandate applies to the RN22, RN20, and RN320 roads toward France, where vehicles exceeding 19 tonnes are also restricted.
