The Canillo local council has launched a national tender for the urban planning project and construction management of the CG-2 bypass through Soldeu’s centre, aiming to boost urban quality, roadway efficiency, and pedestrian priority in the parish’s main traffic artery.

Mayor Jordi Alcobé stated that the works would improve public areas, enhance road safety, and revitalise Soldeu’s core with designs that are more welcoming, effective, and in harmony with the local environment.

The scope covers the CG-2 stretch from the Vidal Casal building to the Edelweis building, including upgrades to the unfinished section of Carrer de la Pujada, the parking area on the plot housing the Aspen parking hut, and the surrounding pavements and carriageway. This involves about 3,800 square metres of pedestrian spaces and 3,650 square metres of roadway.

Key goals include reconfiguring parking to favour foot traffic, minimising the visual and physical presence of vehicle areas, and upholding the route’s role as a major highway. Bidders must enable standalone phased implementation and adhere to technical and material guidelines from the council.

The process complies with Law 14/2022 on public procurement, using a mix of cost and quality criteria. Evaluation will prioritise experience with general roads or similar infrastructure, proposal technical depth and methodology, and pricing. Firms have two months from the tender’s launch to submit bids, with a deadline of 30 April.
