Multi-Vehicle Crash in Massana Injures Four, Damages Hotel Facade

A multi-vehicle crash in central Massana on Wednesday afternoon injured at least four people, damaged a building facade, and caused significant traffic disruptions across the parish and northern valleys.

Police received the alert at 3:20pm and arrived around 3:30pm at Avinguda del Través, in front of a well-known hotel. Firefighters described a collision involving three cars and a regular line bus—route L5 toward Arinsal, carrying a full load of passengers. The bus struck a car ahead, then hit the building facade. It reversed and collided with another car behind it. The driver was performing a maneuver at the time, though exact causes remain under investigation.

The injury count stands at four, according to firefighters: the bus driver, who needed extrication; three others with contusions and bleeding wounds; and one person treated for an anxiety attack. A man with neck pain did not require hospital transport. One report cited a serious injury to the driver alongside an undetermined number of minor cases among passengers, while another mentioned six injuries, all bus occupants, some transferred for care. Authorities have not issued a final tally or severity details.

Responders included two firefighter units with a truck and ambulance, two health service ambulances, Massana commune traffic agents, and several police patrols. Emergency teams attended the injured, secured the area, and began clearing vehicles.

Traffic diversions persist: vehicles from Ordino to La Aldosa and Anyós are rerouted, while northbound drivers on Avinguda Sant Antoni must turn around via Anyós to avoid the scene. Some Ordino motorists have taken the Anyós road independently, easing some congestion.

The Secretary of State David Forné expressed regret over the incident, wishing a swift recovery to the driver and lightly injured, and thanking emergency services for their prompt response.
