The Andorran-plated vehicle was descending from the hospital area along Carrer Sant Andreu when the driver noticed braking issues on the steep downhill section of Carrer de la Creu Grossa. It accelerated uncontrollably, losing full control at the junction of Carrer Doctor Molines and Carrer Bisbe Iglesias, where it struck a roadside stone planter. The impact produced light smoke from leaking fluids such as coolant or engine oil, initially sparking confusion about a possible fire, though fire service officials later ruled out any flames.
Emergency teams arrived promptly. Andorra la Vella police sent units for incident reporting, public safety, and traffic patrol.
