The Catalan Ministry of Transport will start emergency resurfacing works on a 30-kilometre stretch of the N-260 between Bellver de Cerdanya and La Seu d'Urgell on Monday, 2 March, addressing severe damage from heavy rainfall in January and February.
This section is a critical Pyrenean route connecting the Cerdanya and Alt Urgell regions, while directing substantial traffic toward the Cadí Tunnel and Andorra's border. The works will involve full reasphalting of the affected roadway and renewal of horizontal markings to enhance safety.
The N-260 project is included in a €4 million urgent investment plan for the Lleida region. It also covers improvements to 8.5 kilometres of the A-2 from La Panadella to Cervera, and about 8 kilometres of the LL-11 linking the A-2 to the N-240 in Lleida city. All sites will see activity begin on Monday, with possible short-term traffic controls to ensure worker and driver safety.
The ministry's goal is to return these key regional roads to full operational standard.
