Key Points

  • Queues up to 4km on N-145 northbound towards Andorra on Friday morning.
  • Post-holiday rush causes congestion extending into Catalan roads.
  • Earlier Saturday: Dense traffic on CG-1 at Riu Runer and CG-2 to Encamp.
  • Accident on N-260 near Adrall worsened delays to La Seu d'Urgell.

Significant queues persist at Andorra's entry points from Spain, with new reports of heavy congestion extending into Catalan roads on Friday.

The Servei Català de Trànsit reported queues stretching up to four kilometres on the N-145 through the Valls de Valira in a northbound direction towards Andorra. These delays, affecting Friday morning traffic, stem from the ongoing post-holiday rush during the final weekend of the Christmas period. Officials recommend drivers anticipate hold-ups and exercise caution.

Earlier in the week, similar disruptions marked the first weekend of 2026. On Saturday, Andorra's mobility service noted dense traffic on the CG-1 at the Riu Runer border crossing, alongside queues on the northbound CG-2 into Encamp parish. While the main Spanish-Andorran border queue remained relatively short, intermittent backups extended from La Seu d'Urgell through to Sant Julià de Lòria, a primary gateway to central Andorra.

Those conditions were exacerbated by an accident on Spain's N-260 near the Adrall exit, which created additional northbound delays reaching back to La Seu d'Urgell. Outbound traffic from Andorra faced lighter queues at Riu Runer, extending a few kilometres to the Olivera roundabout.

No roadworks have been reported in either period, and authorities continue to advise checking live updates before travel.
