The parish council of Escaldes-Engordany has allocated €7,335.90 to hire an audit firm to review the management of the concession company that runs the underground parking at the town centre, Empark, following the emergence of the "Pérez case." The work, which forms part of an open administrative proceeding against the concessionaire, has not yet been completed.
Although the council decided in July to directly contract the audit services after the alleged irregularities were detected, the contract was not formalised until late September. Gaudit Serveis Empresarials SL has been appointed to carry out the tasks.
The audit was authorised under clause 38 of the concession’s general conditions, which grants the parish council the right to inspect the concessionaire’s management. The aim is to review the concessionaire’s revenue circuit for the Aparcament Escaldes Centre; the work was expected to take two months.
The concessionaire has been notified and called to a meeting to begin the audit. The council has requested the company’s “maximum cooperation,” including access to facilities, documentation, records and personnel, and prompt responses to requests for information and clarifications.
