Funicamp reopens with free Funibus shuttle and complimentary skier parking

The Funicamp cable car will start the winter season on Friday, with a complimentary Funibus shuttle operating from 8:30 to 18:00 to connect Encamp town centre with the cable car.

The Funicamp reopens to provide direct access to the Grandvalira ski areas from central Encamp. The restart is accompanied by the free Funibus service and the activation of several parking areas offering free spaces for skiers. The Funicamp Tourist Office will also open for the season, operating from 9:00 to 17:30 to assist visitors and users.

The Funibus is available to any resident or visitor, whether they ski or not, and aims to link key points in central Encamp with the Funicamp to improve internal mobility. The route repeats last season’s circular circuit from Prada de Moles to the Funicamp, with stops clearly signed. The shuttle runs every day the Funicamp is open, with an approximate frequency of 15 minutes and a last departure at 17:45 from the Funicamp stop.

As part of an initiative launched four years ago to boost economic activity, several parking areas will be free for skiers who present a valid day or season lift pass. Designated lots for the promotion this season are Prat de l’Areny, Els Arínsols, Prat de Baró Nou and Coma Llarga. Free parking applies from 08:00 until 23:59, allowing skiers to use the parish’s dining and shopping options after skiing. Other Encamp car parks will retain their usual conditions, including the standard first half hour free; the Funicamp car park will have a special winter tariff from 08:00 to 20:00.

To use the free parking spaces, skiers must request a discount voucher at the Funicamp or Encamp Tourist Office by presenting their lift pass before returning to their vehicle.
