La Massana council will raise the need for a pedestrian crossing at the Serra de l'Honor bus stop with the Mobility Table, following renewed calls from local residents.

Residents of two multi-family buildings on Avinguda Sant Antoni, at numbers 109-111, have long sought safer access to public transport at the entrance to the parish. The site lies along the main road from central Andorra, directly opposite the bus stop serving routes to Escaldes-Engordany and Andorra la Vella.

In July, the residents petitioned the central government, which manages the road, to paint a crossing there. The request highlighted the buildings as relatively new developments—the first in the Serra de l'Honor area approaching Massana's urban core—with a significant number of occupants. No response followed, and the council was unaware of the initial demand.

The issue resurfaced amid winter traffic challenges, prompting residents to publicise their concerns. Council officials now view population growth in the area as sufficient justification for the measure. Without a local crossing, pedestrians must walk about 500 metres toward Massana centre to cross safely, then return roughly 300 metres to reach the stop.

A crossing at the spot would allow secure passage, given adequate space to the next one. It would particularly benefit elderly residents with good mobility, as well as families with young children using strollers.

The council anticipates little resistance at the Mobility Table, a forum for discussing such infrastructure. Officials expect authorisation could proceed smoothly.
