Ordino to Build 77-Space Parking Lot and Green Area at Plana dels Camps
Construction starts March in Ordino parish to tackle parking shortages, featuring 77 car spaces, 16 motorhome spots, and 1,000m² green space amid.
Key Points
- 77 car spaces and 16 motorhome spots to replace lost capacity at Prat de Vilella and Tenada.
- 1,000m² green space with paths, benches, picnic tables, bike racks.
- Cost rose to €2.086M from €1.4M initial estimate, approving €790K supplement.
- Work begins March if weather permits, targeting early summer finish.
Construction of a new parking facility at Plana dels Camps, next to Clota Verda in Ordino, will begin this March if weather conditions allow and snowfalls subside. The project will deliver 77 car spaces—slightly fewer than the initially planned 90—along with spots for 16 motorhomes.
The development addresses growing parking shortages in the parish. Recently, outdoor spaces at Prat de Vilella lost a third of their capacity, while the Tenada facility closed last year due to urban planning disputes with the property owner.
Alongside the parking area, a 1,000-square-metre green space will be created, featuring planted trees, walking paths, benches, litter bins, drinking fountains, picnic tables and bike racks.
The total cost has reached €2,086,057, up from an earlier estimate of €2,002,907 and well above an initial projection of €1.4 million. This required approval of a €790,000 credit supplement.
Ordino's senior councillor, Maria del Mar Coma, said the parking lot would resolve shortages at Clota Verda, an area undergoing revitalisation through other investments. Officials aim to complete both the parking and green space by early summer.
