The parish merges two routes into a single loop serving all villages with increased frequency, school
shuttles, ski racks, and real-time tracking.
Key Points
- New loop links 10 villages via 29 stops, balancing service between Coll d'Ordino and El Serrat.
- Peak school days: every 20 min 7-10am & 4-7pm; off-peak every 30 min until 10:30pm.
- Features ski racks, free Arcalís shuttle, 24/7 WhatsApp support, and Mou-te app tracking.
- €477k budget for 2026; €0.20 fares, free for kids, seniors, and pass holders; 118k passengers since 2018.
Ordino parish has launched a unified circular bus line today, merging its two previous routes to boost frequency and connectivity across all villages.
Cònsol Major Maria del Carme Coma and Councillor Meritxell Rabadà, responsible for Communication, Information Systems, Citizen Participation, Associations, and Human Development, presented the updates during a Thursday press conference. The new loop connects Ordino, Coll d'Ordino, the town centre, schools area, Sornàs, Ansalonga, La Cortinada, Arans, Llorts, and El Serrat via 29 stops. It now reaches the Buners area with dedicated school stops to improve student access.
The change balances service levels between Coll d'Ordino and El Serrat, meeting long-standing resident requests for equal frequencies. On school days from Monday to Friday, buses run every 20 minutes between 7am-10am and 4pm-7pm, then every 30 minutes from 10am-4pm and 7pm-10.30pm. A special school service leaves Coll d'Ordino at 7.15am to link with national lines in the town centre.
Outside school terms, on weekends, and holidays, service operates every 30 minutes from 7am to 10.30pm. The first bus departs Closa at 7am toward El Serrat; from El Serrat, it starts at 7.20am during school periods or 7.30am otherwise. The last service leaves El Serrat at 10.30pm, returning to Closa.
Rabadà noted users will need time to adjust. Those from Closa heading to El Serrat should use the Raval stop (near the church) to avoid the Coll d'Ordino loop, gaining better frequencies and timings in return. Schools, Portal del Riu (auditorium), and Camp de la Tanada stops serve only Serrat-bound buses; inbound routes use Raval exclusively in the town centre.
Responding to feedback, all vehicles now feature ski racks for winter travel to hotels or events. One bus will provide free service to Arcalís ski slopes during the season. A 24/7 WhatsApp line (+376 803 789) manages issues, with real-time tracking via the Mou-te app and updates on the andbuscomunal website planned soon. The fleet comprises two regular buses, a third for peak times, and a fourth for winter.
The parish funds the service entirely, budgeting €477,000 for 2026, including its share of free Arcalís transport. Fares remain €0.20 per trip, free for under-18s and over-65s residing in the parish, national pass holders, free bus card owners, Magna card holders, and blue card holders. Launched in late 2018 and framed by the 2019-2023 strategic plan, it has carried nearly 118,000 passengers, exceeding targets. Coma emphasized its role in sustainable mobility and quality of life, with further tweaks possible if needed.
