Police and traffic officers were called this afternoon after a school bus driver, with no passengers on board, allegedly shook and struck a worker involved in renovation work at Plaça Calonge in Sant Julià de Lòria. The dispute reportedly began because the vehicle could not pass and the workers had refused to move the barriers.
The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m., shortly before the Christmas lights were due to be switched on, when the avenue and nearby streets were busy. Several bystanders were left stunned by the altercation.
Witnesses said the driver became confrontational after having difficulty passing near the local sports centre. After an initial confrontation in which he briefly left the vehicle, the driver re-entered the bus, moved it a few metres, then got out again to reproach the worker for an alleged lack of cooperation.
No arrests were made at the scene. Authorities said the matter could lead to a complaint from the worker against the driver.
