Multiple Crashes Disrupt CG-2 Traffic Between Escaldes-Engordany and Encamp

Multiple traffic accidents on the CG-2 between Escaldes-Engordany and Encamp caused significant disruptions on Monday afternoon and evening, with queues stretching from Encamp toward Andorra la Vella and repeated diversions through the Dos Valires tunnel. Police reported no injuries across all incidents.

The first crash occurred shortly before 4pm at the Engolasters roundabout near Avinguda del Pont de la Tosca, involving a Spanish-registered car and an Andorran-registered motorcycle. Material damage resulted, prompting Andorra's Mobility Service to open an alternative route via the Dos Valires tunnel from 4:20pm until around 5pm. Congestion built in both directions: northbound from Carretera de l'Obac, and southbound from Encamp's exit through Carretera de la Bartra. Police, firefighters for cleanup, and traffic officials attended to restore normal flow.

Around 5pm, a vehicle collided near the Dama de Gel sculpture, limited to material damage. Separately, a minor rear-end collision involving two Andorran-registered cars—a Ford and a Seat—occurred near the Prada Casadet roundabout on Avinguda Tarragona toward Escaldes. A police traffic unit assisted with insurance exchanges as vehicles pulled aside, causing brief slowdowns.

Later, during the descent from Encamp between l'Obac and Centre Prestigi Automòbils, a Spanish-plated car rear-ended an Andorran motorcycle. The young rider fell but stayed conscious, sat alert by the guardrail, and showed no apparent serious injuries while awaiting emergency services. Southbound queues reached the FEDA area, leading to another Dos Valires diversion. Security forces, firefighters, and traffic teams managed the scene, aided those involved, and cleared vehicles.

Just before 7pm, two more incidents unfolded: a motorcycle lost control at the roundabout between Bartra and Valira Nova, prompting two police patrols; and two cars collided on the Encamp-bound exit ramp from the Dos Valires tunnel.

Authorities have released no details on causes or investigations. Traffic has since returned to normal.
