The public sector budget for 2026 totals 2,089.1 million euros in both expenditure and revenue, marking an 8.7% rise in spending and an 8.5% increase in income compared to the previous year.
Data released on Monday by Andorra's Statistics Department show aggregated expenditure reaching this figure, with revenue matching it exactly. Excluding financial assets and liabilities, spending climbs to 1,990.3 million euros—a 9.6% gain—while revenue hits 1,887.4 million euros, up 9.3%.
Public administrations account for the largest share, with expenditure at 1,803.4 million euros (13.4% higher year-on-year) and revenue also rising 13.1%. Without financial operations, this drops to 1,715.6 million euros in spending (up 11.3%) and 1,661.5 million euros in revenue (up 10.7%).
Within public administrations, central government sees the sharpest growth at 808.6 million euros in expenditure, a 17.1% increase. Local administration budgets grow to 257 million euros (+9.7%), and Social Security funds reach 542.2 million euros (+11.1%). Non-profit institutions record 162.2 million euros (+11.5%), and non-market public companies 33.5 million euros (+3.1%), with revenue trends aligning closely.
Non-financial public companies show a contrasting decline, with aggregated expenditure and revenue at 278.2 million euros, down 13.2%. Excluding financial items, spending holds steady at 267.5 million euros, while revenue edges up to 218.5 million euros (+1.6%).
Financial institutions face the steepest drop, with budgets of 7.4 million euros in both expenditure and revenue—a 29.3% fall—though non-financial spending rises 4%.
The figures indicate broad growth across public accounts for 2026, driven mainly by expansions in public administrations and Social Security.
