Andorra Hits Record 23,939 Companies in 2025 with 7.22% Growth Surge

Andorra ended 2025 with 23,939 registered companies, up 7.22% from 22,326 the previous year, according to data released this Monday by the Department of Statistics. The net gain of 1,613 companies marked the highest growth in the past decade, driven by 2,176 new formations despite 563 closures.

New company creations rose 17.12% from 2024, reaching a record high. Closures also hit a peak, increasing 8.69% or by 45 compared to the prior year. This resulted in a net variation of 6.74%, up 12.26% annually, with the birth rate at 9.09% and the mortality rate at 2.35%.

The figures, drawn from administrative sources including the Companies Register, Trade Register, Registered Professionals Register, tax declarations (IS, IGI, and IRPF), and Accounts Deposit Register, confirm a steady upward trend since 2016. The total stock has nearly doubled from 14,205 companies that year.

Business survival rates remain strong. Of those created in 2023, 89.99% were still active at the end of 2025. First-year survival exceeded 97% across cohorts analysed.

Earlier data from 2023 showed 63.58% of 20,986 identified companies were economically active, totalling 13,343 with operations and 7,643 inactive for at least two consecutive years.
