Andorra's floating population reached 4,792,661 people during the first quarter of 2026, according to figures released by the Department of Statistics. This total accounts for everyone present in the country over the three-month period.

The equivalent population—the number of full-time residents who would generate the same level of resource consumption—averaged 147,125 people. That marks a 3.3% rise from the first quarter of 2025, when the figure stood at 142,447 people.

Seasonal population also increased, totalling 5,146,205 individuals, up 3.2% from the previous year. This equates to an average of 57,180 people present daily each month. The seasonal figure represents 64% of Andorra's estimated resident population of 89,368 as of 31 March 2026.

The floating population grew 6.3% compared to the same period in 2025. It also rose 55.1% from the prior quarter, driven by the winter tourism season. Monthly averages for the floating population stood at around 1.66 million, the highest in the past five years and up 6.2% year-on-year.

Equivalent population tends to dip in April and May as the ski season ends, peaks in August with summer visitors, and climbs again from November ahead of winter. These metrics highlight pressure on services and infrastructure from tourists, day-trippers, temporary workers and cross-border commuters alongside residents.
