Òscar Gelabert will step down as director general of the Agència Estatal de Resolució d’Entitats Bancàries (AREB) effective 31 May, following his own request and an agreement with the agency.

The AREB announced the leadership change on Friday, marking the end of Gelabert's multi-year tenure at the organisation responsible for banking resolution processes in Andorra. The agency publicly thanked him for his dedication, professionalism and commitment, highlighting his contributions during what it described as a particularly significant period. This included efforts to consolidate the AREB's operations.

To ensure continuity, Eva Garcia Serrano, the current deputy director, will take over as interim director general from 1 June. The move aims to maintain operational stability while a permanent replacement is determined.

The announcement underscores a smooth transition at the AREB, which has played a key role in Andorra's financial oversight amid past resolution challenges.
