Andorra la Vella's municipal government has awarded Geotech SL a €76,957.98 contract for geological and geotechnical studies on the Prada Casadet plot, designated for the Espai Capital development.

The Comú d’Andorra la Vella's governing board approved the contract on 26 May, with the notice appearing in the Butlletí Oficial del Principat d’Andorra (BOPA) on Wednesday. Selected through a national open tender process, the studies are set to last 10 weeks and will involve boreholes and subsurface testing to assess soil consistency, stability levels, and potential groundwater presence.

Authorities described the surveys as a standard preliminary step for major construction projects, aimed at confirming the site's conditions to support safe development. The Comú stated that the phase would examine the plot's terrain to guarantee the project advances securely, with findings essential for refining critical technical features, particularly the building's foundations. They added that the data would allow the executive project to align precisely with the site's realities before construction begins.

Once complete, the results will inform the executive project, which will outline the facility's construction, technical, and operational specifications ahead of any works tender. Administrative appeals against the award may be submitted to the Comú within one month.
