Creand Crèdit Andorrà has appointed Ángel Fernández-Pola Martínez as an independent director on its board, a move the bank says strengthens corporate governance—a core element of its strategic plan.
The addition brings senior-level expertise in economics, business, finance, and governance. Fernández-Pola holds a degree in Economic and Business Sciences from the University of Oviedo, along with an International MBA from Esden Business School in Madrid, a master's in Economics and Business Management from IESE, and e-Business from Instituto de Empresa. He has specialised training in governance for insurance entities via Inese and in leadership, talent management, and equality from the International Institute for Management Development.
His career spans over 20 years at Grupo Santander, where he held key roles such as vice president of Santander Investment, vice president of Capital Markets at BSCH, executive director of Retail Banking, and managing director of Santander Global Banking & Markets. He later worked at Arcano, an advisory and alternative asset management firm. Currently, he serves on the executive committee as a partner and advisor at Miraltabank and Miraltabank SGIIC, and as a board member of Spain's Previsión Sanitaria Nacional mutual society in insurance.
The board now comprises nine members: president Antoni Pintat Mas; vice president Jaume Casal Mor; managing director Xavier Cornella Castel; directors Ramon Aznar Pascua, Alfons Casanova Martí, Rosa Pintat Santolària, Sandra Sieber, and Ángel Fernández-Pola Martínez; with Àngel Cadena Falip as secretary (non-director).
